On March 12, 2012, AMA Houston will honor 34 Marketer of the Year Best of Category winners selected from over 145 nominated companies, organizations and institutions. During the event to be held at the Alley Theater, we will announce the 2011 Marketer of the Year. Prior winners include University of Houston Athletic Department (2010), Blinds.com (2009), Kelsey-Seybold Clinic (2008), the Houston Zoo (2007), Weatherford International (2006) and the Houston Symphony (2005).
AMA Houston’s Marketer of the Year program recognizes exceptional marketing by Houston area companies, organizations and institutions.

Keynote Speaker: Jim Compton, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, United Airlines, Marketing the World’s Largest Airline Company
Jim Compton, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for United Airlines, will deliver the keynote address at the American Marketing Association Houston Chapter’s Marketer of the Year event to be held at the Alley Theatre on March 12, 2012. Compton is responsible for overseeing United’s domestic and international sales, corporate development and alliances, marketing, reservations, network pricing and revenue management, scheduling and distribution.
Compton had a major role in the 2010 merger of United and Continental, chairing the committee charged with planning the consolidation of all systems, policies and programs.
Previously, Compton was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Continental Airlines. Since joining Continental in 1995, Compton has held leadership roles which included Senior Vice President of Marketing and Senior Director of Pricing. As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Compton was instrumental in launching EliteAccess, Continental’s priority service for its most valuable customers.
