Sold-out event draws unprecedented 570+ attendees
HOUSTON, TX (June 8, 2011): More than 570 professionals from 162 companies turned out for the American Marketing Association Houston Chapter’s 25th Annual Crystal Awards event. Proceeds from the record-breaking event will go in part to support AMA Houston Gives Back, the chapter’s philanthropic arm that assists local non-profit organizations with costs associated with their marketing efforts. The three organizations receiving funds at the event were Girls on the Run, O’Connell College Preparatory School, and SEARCH Homeless Services.
Top winner Axiom takes home six trophies.
During the Crystal Awards gala at the Hyatt Regency, 40 companies won 55 awards for Houston’s best marketing work. Attendees watched as Axiom led the field with six awards, followed by Weatherford International with five. The Houston Rockets won the Maverick award while Accenture walked away with the coveted Judges’ Favorite award. Special guest Nancy Costopulos, CMO of the American Marketing Association, attended the event to recognize AMA Houston as the association’s 2009-2010 Chapter of the Year. The chapter has won this top honor an unprecedented five of the last seven years.
